Some of the schemes have resident sheltered housing staff living on-site who are responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day running of the scheme. Although they do not provide care, they can put leaseholders in touch with the appropriate services, should they be required.

Each flat has an alarm call system to enable leaseholders to contact the sheltered housing officer in an emergency. During the hours when the staff are off duty, the alarm system is linked to a central control. The control centre staff are trained to deal with emergencies and will respond appropriately to all calls, accessing emergency or other services as needed.
